Online poker and live poker have many differences. Not only do the atmospheres feel completely difference, but your whole strategy towards the game of poker has to change.

Live poker is much easier to tell bluffs, especially in unexperienced players. With online poker, detection of a bluff is nearly impossible due to the inability to read body language. Live poker also affords someone the ability to gloat over their victory on the hand. Online poker has no ability of congratulation, except for online chat.

Live poker is often enjoyed much more enjoyed by a larger base of people due to the amount of human to human interaction. Also, when playing live poker you can enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the casino, and all the perks that come with it. With online poker, very few perks are offered, even to players who play poker frequently.

Also, with live poker people are much more likely to place a large bet when they believe they can win. With many online poker games, people only feel that they should place bets that are constant and consistent. Online poker often has better odds, especially with poker rooms that are directed to new poker players. Many live games of poker can have players with higher skill levels playing at lower skill level tables, thus creating increased competition and worse odds.

The good thing about online poker is Full Tilt Rakeback and the amount of hands you can play. Play ten times as many hands, and get some of the rake you pay right back to you. That’s a good deal!

Whether you are playing poker online or at a casino, there are plenty of differences between the two. Make sure you know the differences before the next time you play a game of poker.

I went on a painful rollercoaster losing about $12,000 in a matter of seven hours…

Painful, especially as that was most of my winning of last year.

I’m such an idiot… I might have a gambling addiction too — time to reflect…

No, I’m not REALLY quitting poker — but sometimes, I feel like I should. I’m having an extremely bad week, and it feels like at this point there is no justice what so ever in the game of poker. I’ve been playing 7 Card Stud for the past week, and I’ve been murdered by river cards constantly. A perfect example is the hand where I have a full house by fifth street, improve my boat on sixth, and my opponent beats me with quads on a miracle river 6.

My K’s over J’s came in short, and I had a sick feeling when I clicked the call button too.

Not like I was going to lay K’s over J’s down — but DAMN that sucked.

I’m taking a breat, that’s FOR SURE.

This is televised cash game poker from Sweden, Scandinavia. Some top players are on the table including Tobbe Persson, Ilari Sahamies, Patrick Antonius, Tony G. & Per Hildebrand. When Ilari hits bottom two pair on the flop (3/5) and both Per and Patrick hit top pair — we can see the aggressiveness of Patrick Antonius, re-raising with the top pair and a small kicker in this situation.

Now, if this were me, I might have done the same — it’s not a bad feeler-raise, and it would get anyone out that is on anything but a better hand than he is. That’s where I feel Patrick went wrong in this hand. The Youtube commenters seem to agree he had to move in, but I can’t see why? Even against the nut flush draw he’d be an underdog, and there’s a good chance he’s a huge dog against any 8 with a kicker, or two pair/set.

Still, once the cards were flipped over Patrick had a good amount of outs — they didn’t come, though. Show looks like great fun, too bad it’s Swedish.
