Online poker and live poker have many differences. Not only do the atmospheres feel completely difference, but your whole strategy towards the game of poker has to change.

Live poker is much easier to tell bluffs, especially in unexperienced players. With online poker, detection of a bluff is nearly impossible due to the inability to read body language. Live poker also affords someone the ability to gloat over their victory on the hand. Online poker has no ability of congratulation, except for online chat.

Live poker is often enjoyed much more enjoyed by a larger base of people due to the amount of human to human interaction. Also, when playing live poker you can enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the casino, and all the perks that come with it. With online poker, very few perks are offered, even to players who play poker frequently.

Also, with live poker people are much more likely to place a large bet when they believe they can win. With many online poker games, people only feel that they should place bets that are constant and consistent. Online poker often has better odds, especially with poker rooms that are directed to new poker players. Many live games of poker can have players with higher skill levels playing at lower skill level tables, thus creating increased competition and worse odds.

The good thing about online poker is Full Tilt Rakeback and the amount of hands you can play. Play ten times as many hands, and get some of the rake you pay right back to you. That’s a good deal!

Whether you are playing poker online or at a casino, there are plenty of differences between the two. Make sure you know the differences before the next time you play a game of poker.

Nowadays many people cannot imagine their life without playing online poker or poker in a land based casino. In a few years time poker got very popular, especially by students and young people. Playing poker is also really more easy and accessible than in the past because of the rise of casino online. Everybody that has a age of 18 or older can easily visit one of the best online casinos that you can find on the Internet.

A big advantage of playing poker online is that there is the possibility to play with play money. In this way you can practice the game with money that is not yours. Of course you can not withdraw your winnings but at least you can get familiar with the game and try to test different strategies.
The games with play money are very helpful for beginners but also for advanced players.

Several online poker rooms organize at least once a month big tournaments where you can win huge prizes. It is possible to play freerolls or you can take part with a buy-in tournament. Freerolls are tournaments where you don’t have to pay a buy-in, you can subscribe yourself for free, but of course the winnings are really lower when playing a buy-in tournament.

If you surf on the Internet you can see that you can book also different workshops about poker. This is a really good option for a business trip or a bachelor party. Poker is now really hot and probably the popularity of the fantastic game will stay for a pretty long time.

Online poker rooms and online casinos are really convenient for people with a busy life that like to have a little excitement so now and then.

Just cleaned out a donkey online and wanted to share the story because the guy played his hand so strangely, and he played it so weak considering the very deep stack sizes I just had to share…

Anyway, I’m under the gun with KJ and as it was a very passive table I decided to limp. Five players limped behind me and the blinds call/checked. Seven players in the hand — no raise.

The flop comes KK4 rainbow. Excellent flop for me obviously and I bet out 70% of the pot in third position assuming SOMEONE will have a pocket pair or a 4 to give me some action. I get called by 3 players.

The turn brings a Jack, giving me the nuts. I check to make them think I may have been stealing on the flop and one guy behind me bets. Button moves all-in right away, I just call, and get a call behind me. The river is a ten. I move all-in and get called by K-10, cold deck for him. Button shows aces.

Slowplaying aces and then paying off with SEVEN players in (chances someone has a king are huge). BADBADBADpoker.

No, I’m not REALLY quitting poker — but sometimes, I feel like I should. I’m having an extremely bad week, and it feels like at this point there is no justice what so ever in the game of poker. I’ve been playing 7 Card Stud for the past week, and I’ve been murdered by river cards constantly. A perfect example is the hand where I have a full house by fifth street, improve my boat on sixth, and my opponent beats me with quads on a miracle river 6.

My K’s over J’s came in short, and I had a sick feeling when I clicked the call button too.

Not like I was going to lay K’s over J’s down — but DAMN that sucked.

I’m taking a breat, that’s FOR SURE.

This is a painful hand, and shows how dangerous aces are against middle and low pairs. We’ll be looking at the hand from sifoka’s perspective, he is dealt . Pre-flop:

RAISE acousticmann to $2
RAISE sifoka to $6
CALL acousticmann $4

You’ve got what you wanted. A raise in front of you, a hefty re-raise and a call. Not bad, decent action in a $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold’em game, even at Full Tilt.

Anyway, the flop rolls off, and it’s a good one. Flush draw that may have hit something, and some dangerous straight-are middle cards too:

Our man sifoka bets right into it, the right play — and is probably quite happy to see a re-raise. He shoves it in (again, the right play), and sees the bad news: a set.

BET sifoka $8
RAISE acousticmann to $20
ALL-IN sifoka $43.25
CALL acousticmann $23.25

Auch:

sifoka shows
acousticmann shows

[...]

Board [ ]

[...]

Seat 1 acousticmann showed [ ] and won ($95.75) with a full house Eights full of Sevens

Painful. Source, right here!

Hollywood Poker is a very popular poker room endorsed by many big name celebrities – including James Woods, who can be spotted at the tables frequently. It is ‘where the stars come to play’. They use the celebrity angle to endorse the site so it can make it popular with women. Sexist I know but James Woods is a draw.

There is a good sign up bonus which is quite easy to clear. There are lots of unusual promotions. Top Set and Quad Aces payouts on Wednesdays, AAAA-JJJJ with one pocket card: pays out 25x the big blind. The weekly Celebrity Classic Bounty Tournament is always a favorite with a bounty on the heads of all the celebrities you knock out. (Although sometimes the word celebrity is a stretch)

The variations offered at Hollywood Poker include Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo and Five-Card Draw. All variations and limits are represented. You can also play casino games if you fancy a flutter. The competition is relatively soft at the lower limits.

Hollywood Poker uses the OnGame network platform and draws its traffic from the network’s shared player base. The Hollywood Poker software has a unique design and good functionality and there is both a download version and a Java client; the downloaded version is always better, but the Java client allows you to play away from home. It is also a good choice for Mac users, who can play the Java version without any special installs.

Ironically not US friendly.
